I was thinking about my childhood the other day, and I was flooded with memories of those long, lazy summers spent in Yaya’s garden. It was a magical place, filled with the scent of roses, the buzz of bees, and the laughter of cousins.
A Garden Paradise
Yaya’s garden was a wonderland. Rows of vibrant roses stretched as far as the eye could see, their petals unfurling in the sun. A sprawling grapevine, heavy with ripe fruit, casts a shady canopy over the patio. It was the perfect place for kids to run wild and let their imaginations soar.
Cousins, Games, and Endless Fun
Every summer, we’d all gather at Yaya’s – cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. It was a time for endless laughter, for playing hide-and-seek in the rose bushes, for building forts under the grapevine, and for sharing stories under the warm glow of the setting sun.
The End of Summer’s Magic
As the school holidays drew to a close, the air would start to feel a little cooler, the days a little shorter. It was time to pack our bags and head back to Mama’s house. It was a bittersweet feeling, leaving behind the warmth of Yaya’s garden, the carefree days of summer, and the joy of being surrounded by loved ones.
Cherished Memories
Those summers in Yaya’s garden were some of the happiest times of my childhood. They were filled with love, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. Those memories will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’ll forever cherish the time spent with family in that beautiful, sun-drenched garden.
Cheers,
Saugi!
